The last six games of the season are important for Jacob Markstrom. He will become a restricted free agent this summer and Jose Theodore will probably be allowed to test the market as a UFA. It's important for him to establish himself down the team's final stretch of the year and try to end on a high note before working on some things over the summer. "He needs to work on video, go home and continue to grow and come back for a fresh start," said goaltending coach Robb Tallas. "There are no guarantees in this league. You've got to earn spots in this league. They're not handed to you." Markstrom has been inconsistent at the NHL level, but he has potential and the Panthers still hold him in high regard.
