The Florida Panthers didn't extend a qualifying offer to Peter Mueller but would still like to re-sign the winger. GM Dale Tallon said the team didn't qualify Mueller because they are fearful of him taking them to arbitration. Tallon said the two sides will continue to negotiate, although Mueller will become an unrestricted free agent Friday. Mueller had eight goals and 17 points in 43 games this season.
