The Detroit Red Wings placed Stephen Weiss on the regular IR on Sunday. Not a big surprise since the team announced that he'd be out until at least after Christmas thanks to his troublesome groin injury. He's been hugely disappointing this season, although not for a surprising reason, as 2012-13 was also derailed because of injury issues.
