The Colorado Avalanche signed captain Gabriel Landeskog to a seven-year contract extension. Landeskog is now under contract through the 2020-21 season. The deal comes on the heels of Matt Duchene's five-year extension and shows that the Avs' new front office investment in the team's young core. Landeskog just finished his first season as captain, scoring nine goals and 17 points in an injury-filled, 36-game season. We're expecting a rebound season this year and he should still be drafted in the middle rounds of most drafts.
