The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Brandon Segal to a one-year contract. He recorded five goals, 10 points and 41 penalty minutes in 46 contests with the Dallas Stars last campaign. In 30 games with the AHL's Texas Stars, he notched seven markers and 17 points. Segal will likely begin the 2011-12 season in the minors.
