The Carolina Hurricanes sent 13 players down to the minors including center Victor Rask. Carolina sent Brock McGinn back to the Guelph Storm of the OHL while forwards Justin Shugg, Brody Sutter and Brendan Woods; defensemen Danny Biega, Mark Flood, Austin Levi, Keegan Lowe, Rasmus Rissanen and Beau Schmitz; and goalie Mike Murphy were sent to the training camp of the AHL's Charlotte Checkers.
