The Carolina Hurricanes have signed Nicolas Blanchard to a two-year, two-way contract extension. Blanchard will make $525,000 annually in the NHL and $105,000 per season in the minors. However, he is guarantee to earn at least $125,000 per season. He had 21 points and 103 penalty minutes in 68 games with the AHL Charlotte Checkers last season. He will turn 25 on May 31 and has yet to make his NHL debut.
