The Blues' top line of David Backes, T.J. Oshie and David Perron struggled to gel in training camp, but showed some chemistry Saturday.
Oshie had a shorthanded goal and two assists and Backes also had a helper. It's going to take time for the three to mesh, but Saturday was definitely a good start. Oshie described why training camp wasn't a great representation of what is to come. "In the scrimmage, sometimes I might have had a chance to take a guy out," Oshie said. "I just shied off because I don't want to hurt my own team. That hit possibly leads to a turnover and possibly leads to [offensive] zone time and that leads to goals. The same thing with Backes and 'Perry,' when they're going hard on guys. It's just hard to do against your own team."
