The Blackhawks traded Panarin and Tyler Motte to Columbus in exchange for Brandon Saad and Anton Forsberg on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Panarin flourished while skating on Patrick Kane's line during his two seasons with the Blackhawks, racking up a highly impressive 151 points (61 goals, 90 assists) in 162 contests. The Blackhawks are clearly trying to address the unexpected loss of Marian Hossa with this deal, as Saad's larger frame enables him to play a more complete two-way game, but Panarin will continue to be an elite scorer while skating in a top-six role with the Blue Jackets. The Russian forward's production may dip a bit in 2017-18 since he'll no longer be receiving passes from Kane, but he'll still be an extremely valuable asset in all fantasy formats.
