The anticipated return of Adam Pardy (ribs) to the lineup next week may cause the Stars to fall below the NHL's mandated salary cap floor. The activation of Pardy in conjunction with the release by the Rangers of Sean Avery (the Stars were playing half his salary), would leave Dallas below the salary cap floor by approximately $1 million. You don't often see this problem in professional sports leagues. The Stars may have to sign, trade for or promote a player to meet the cap requirements. Stay tuned.
