Varlamov (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup against Columbus on Thursday but could return to action versus the Coyotes or Golden Knights on Saturday or Sunday, respectively, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Varlamov appears to be getting closer to making his 2021-22 season debut. Once cleared to play, the 33-year-old netminder should see the bulk of the workload for the Isles, though Ilya Sorokin will certainly be in the mix for regular starts outside of just back-to-backs.
