Allen turned aside 28 of 30 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Allen drew the opening-night start with Carey Price (personal) away from the team and turned in a solid effort. Pierre Engvall's power-play goal in the first period beat him through a screen, and William Nylander potted the go-ahead tally off a rush 76 seconds into the final frame, the only shots to elude Allen. The 31-year-old Allen appeared in 29 games (27 starts) in 2020-21, his first season with Montreal, and posted a 2.68 GAA and .907 save percentage.
