Kaliyev was suspended for the remainder of the preseason and the first two games of the regular season by the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for kneeing Anaheim's Chase De Leo on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Kaliyev wasn't penalized on the play, but the NHL deemed the infraction suspension worthy. He had 13 goals and 15 assists in 56 games with the Kings in 2022-23. Kaliyev will be eligible to return to the lineup Tuesday, Oct. 17 against Winnipeg.
