Superstar Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks had to leave a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins Sunday night with an upper-body injury. Toward the end of the second period, with the Pens holding a 2-1 lead, Toews took control of the puck along the boards when Pittsburgh defenseman Brooks Orpik drilled him. The Chicago captain did not see Orpik coming. Toews, third on the Blackhawks with 68 points (28 goals) in 75 games this season, was holding his arm when he went back to the bench. He eventually went back into the locker room and did not return for the rest of the game, won 4-1 by the Pens. The Blackhawks have already clinched a playoff spot, but they are in a battle for home ice advantage in the first round with the Colorado Avalanche. The Hawks are already without another superstar, Patrick Kane (lower body), who will be out for at least the rest of the regular season.
