McNiven made four saves on seven shots in a 8-2 loss to the Wild on Monday.

McNiven came in to replace starter Cayden Primeau after the latter allowed five goals, but did little to stop the bleeding. This was the 24-year-old's first NHL appearance, and he is set up to continue to back up Primeau while Samuel Montembeault is out.
