Varlamov is still in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol but has returned to the team, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

There is no word yet from the Islanders as to whether or not Varlamov will be available for their game Sunday versus the Canadiens. One would think that even if Varlamov were to be cleared, coach Barry Trotz might want him to get in a full practice before playing in a game. This may mean that the best chance for Varlamov to play will be Tuesday when they begin their west coast trip in Seattle.
