Steve Ott will be Buffalo's captain in Wednesday's 2013-14 opener at Detroit. He and Thomas Vanek were named co-captains by the team on Tuesday. Ott will wear the 'C' during Sabres' road games and Vanek will get it at home matches. "It's a tremendous honor, the ultimate honor to wear the C for this team," said Ott, who is in the final year of his current contract. He would like to remain in Buffalo beyond this season.
