Steve Mason was yanked in the second period from the Flyers' 6-4 win over the Islanders on Saturday night. Fresh off a brand new contract extension signed, Mason gave up four goals on 24 shots over the first 34:00. While they have played much better recently, the Flyers' goaltending could still end up being their undoing. Mason has had two subpar months, with a .899 save percentage in December and .881 in January. Altogether, he has a 2.56 goals-against average and .915 save percentage, so it's obvious his hot start is giving him some cushion there. Ray Emery was a perfect five-for-five in relief.
