Steve Mason was sturdy in net, making 35 saves in the Columbus Blue Jackets' 5-2 win Thursday night over the Colorado Avalanche. Oddly enough, the last week or so of the season, the lowly Blue Jackets have received solid goaltending, and consequently have four wins in their last five games. Allen York had started the previous four. Mason has had a very underwhelming season with a 15-26-3 record, 3.39-goals-against average and .894 save percentage, his third straight with a GAA above three.
