Steve Mason was instrumental in Philadelphia's 2-1 win over New York in Game 4, stopping 37 shots in his return to the lineup on Friday night. The Rangers piled on the pressure all game long, at times dominating the hometown Flyers, but Mason played a solid game and gave his team the chance to win. The Flyers were outshot 38-25, gave away the puck 13 times and were shorthanded four times, but Mason provided strong netminding in sending the series back to Madison Square Garden knotted up at two. Mason made his first start since suffering an upper body injury on April 12.
