Steve Mason is hoping to re-sign with the Philadelphia Flyers. Given that Mason is a restricted free agent, that was likely anyways. The real question is if the Flyers are ready to commit to giving Mason a long-term deal. Mason had a long history of under performing with the Columbus Blue Jackets, but he has a 2.09 GAA and .934 save percentage in 19 games this season. Because Mason inked a one-year deal, the Flyers can't start negotiating with him until Jan. 1 at the earliest.
