Steve Mason is 2-1 with a .931 save percentage and a 2.33 GAA in his last three games. The netminder is having another horrible season as he is 45th overall in all the major categories which includes seven wins, a 3.40 GAA and a .887 save percentage but those numbers were worse three games ago. Interim head coach Todd Richards had no confidence in him when Richards took over the reins from Scott Arniel in January and it showed as Mason started only three of 13 games with two coming when the Blue Jackets played back-to-back nights. But an injury to Curtis Sanford opened the door for Mason yet again and this time he has played well. "He has elevated his game," Richards said. "It's a credit to him because he has worked extremely hard. It's been a real difficult year for him. I'm happy for him that he's starting to have some success." Look for Mason to get the start on Saturday as Sanford has yet to return to the ice to skate.
