Steve Mason hasn't lost his job as the team's top goaltender yet. Mason has a 2-9-1 record, 3.36 GAA, and .880 save percentage in 12 starts, but coach Scott Arniel is sticking with him. "It's all about what's going to give us the best chance to win in Philadelphia," Arniel said. "Does Steve give that to us? I'd like to think he does, over a kid that's got one and half games of NHL experience (Allen York)." It sounds like Arniel's argument boils down to the fact that the Blue Jackets really don't have a viable backup. That might change when Mark Dekanich returns from a high-ankle sprain.
