Steve Mason and the Philadelphia Flyers gave up a 4-1 lead halfway through the third period, eventually losing 5-4 (SO) to the Washington Capitals on Sunday. After not allowing more than three goals in a single game in October and November, Mason has allowed four goals three times in December. It's difficult not to wonder if Mason's hot streak has hit a brick wall. The Flyers might want to wait out his contract year to make sure he can be a true No. 1 over an 82-game span.
