Steve Downie has inked a two-year/$5.3 million contract extension with the Colorado Avalanche. Downie will make $2.55 million next season and $2.75 million in 2013-14. He had 41 points and 137 penalty minutes in 75 games with Tampa Bay and Colorado. Downie has the potential to modestly improve on those numbers in 2012-13.
