Steve Bernier would be open to playing in Europe if he gets the opportunity. "For sure, that would be a decision I would have to talk over with my wife and see if it's worth it," he said. "But, at the same time, I'm a hockey player. I want to play. I want to be in good shape. I've got a two-year contract now (with the Devils) and I don't want to miss my chance to show that last year was not a one-year thing." Bernier will participate in the La Tourn‚e des Joueurs or The Players' Tour, along with several other NHL players this week to play something more meaningful than unofficial skates and to help raise money for charity.
