Stephen Weiss (sports hernia) skated on his own for the first time in 10 days. The Wings were encouraged to see Weiss back on the ice but don't expect him to return to action during the regualr season. It has been a nightmare campaign for the former Panther as he played poorly when in the lineup and has missed the bulk of the season due to injury.
