Stephen Weiss (sports hernia) is expected to be fine for the start of training camp. "(Trainer) Piet Van Zant texted him two days ago," Red Wings GM Ken Holland said regarding Weiss. "He said he's feeling great, he's training hard; he's played some shinny (pick-up hockey)." Weiss had just four points and 12 penalty minutes in 26 games in 2013-14. After a lackluster summer for Detroit, they'll be counting on Weiss to bounce back.
