Stephen Weiss (groin) didn't participate in Saturday's morning skate, but thinks he'll be available for a practice on Monday. Weiss is aiming to play in the Red Wings' season opener after pulling himself out of Friday's preseason contest. "There was something going on (in the groin area) and I figured just be smart for once and let it settle down a bit, so be ready for Wednesday," Weiss explained. He's projected to open the season as Detroit's second line center.
