Dobson leads all of the defenders for the Islanders in goals, assists, points, and shots on goal.
EDGE Analysis
This season, Dobson has three goals, seven assists, 10 points, and 49 shots on goal in 24 games for the Isles. Dobson was touted as an offensive defenseman for the Isles when he was drafted, but that skill has taken some time to come out, especially with coach Barry Trotz insisting that the team play from its goaltender on out. The Islanders are searching for any offense they can find on defense, especially with Ryan Pulock (lower body) on injured reserve. The team may be allowing Dobson to freelance a little more than usual as they have struggled to score goals this season. Dobson will next get a chance to show his skills Monday in Buffalo.
