Starting goalie Evgeni Nabokov of the New York Islders partially participated in his team's morning skate Friday, the first on-ice team activity he has done since injuring his quadriceps in the first period of a game against the Dallas Stars on Jan. 6. He has missed nine consecutive starts and, coach Jack Capuano said, "He still needs a little ways," before he can return.
