Stars GM Jim Nill said he expects Benn (hip) to sit out the Stars' first four or five exhibition contests, Mark Stepneski of NHL.com reports.

Benn hasn't experienced any setbacks in his recovery from offseason hip surgery, but the Stars seem of mind to bring him back slowly in the early stages of camp. He's been cleared to participate in full practices, and is still expected to play in the final one or two preseason games in preparation for the regular-season opener. All indications are that the Stars are just being cautious here, so Benn's potential absence in preseason games shouldn't affect his draft standing.
