Byram scored twice on six shots, added an assist and blocked three shots in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
With Cale Makar (upper body) on injured reserve, Byram led the Avalanche's defensemen with 24:45 of ice time. He made the most of the extra responsibility, tallying in the second period and scoring the game-tying goal in the third to force overtime. He also had a shot that J.T. Compher tipped in for the Avalanche's third goal. Byram is up to three goals, eight points, 17 shots on net, 13 hits, nine blocks and a plus-5 rating in nine contests. The fourth overall pick from 2019, Byram should serve as the team's top blueliner for the length of Makar's absence, so he'll be worth an add in standard fantasy formats.
