The Coyotes' hopes of finishing with the league's worst record were dashed after the Sabres lost Friday against the Blue Jackets, but even if tanking is off the table, don't expect the Coyotes to rise to the occasion here. The Ducks are poised to finish with the best record in the Western Conference, while Smith enters the crease with a horrid 14-41-5 record to go along with an equally poor 3.18 GAA and .903 save percentage. Smith's terrible season could lead the Coyotes to explore other options in goal heading into 2015-16.
