Smith (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Friday to open up a roster spot for teammate Michael Stone, Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports reports. Morgan adds that the IR move is retroactive to Tuesday when Smith was injured.

The move to IR will keep Smith out of action for at least seven days retroactive to October 18th, though details on the severity of the injury have yet to surface.
