Smith allowed two goals on 24 shots in Tuesday's overtime loss to the Capitals. Smith turned in a much-needed strong outing in this one, but failed to bring home a win for the fourth consecutive start. The strong effort will help him hold off Devan Dubnyk for No. 1 duties, but Smith will need to continue turning in solid work to prevent the Coyotes from turning to Dubnyk, who's collected half of the team's eight wins so far despite starting just five games to Smith's 14.
