Palmieri (lower body) has started skating on his own but still may not practice with the Islanders on Tuesday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

If Palmieri cannot practice with the team Tuesday, then it would seem unlikely that he would play Wednesday versus the Red Wings or Thursday against the Sabres. The Islanders need any and every healthy forward they can get their hands on after placing Anthony Beavuillier, Oliver Wahlstrom, Zach Parise, and Cal Clutterbuck in the COVID-19 protocols Sunday. If Palmieri can't go Wednesday or Thursday, then his next chance to play would be Saturday versus the Oilers.
