Simmonds will not play in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Islanders, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Among a bunch of other top forwards, Simmonds will rest for the last game of the season. It shouldn't impact his availability for the postseason as he's just a healthy, but his absence opens up a lineup spot for Scott Laughton, R.J. Umberger and Jordan Weal. Unless there is something to suggest otherwise, expect the start winger to be good to go for Game 1.
