Simmonds scored a goal, added two assists and racked up 14 PIM in Saturday's 7-2 rout of the visiting Red Wings. He now has 47 points in 70 games. Simmonds stole Brayden Schenn's thunder in this one, as the first of Schenn's goals of his would-be hat trick was overturned and granted to Simmonds after further review. Owners were likely happy to see the 14 PIM as well, as he's been overly gentlemanly this season with a total of 64 PIM after committing 106 minutes worth of transgressions last year. Simmonds is also in danger of falling short of last year's career-high 60 points, so he'll need to net over a point per-game the rest of the way to amass the 14 points needed for a new personal best.
