Timashov penned a two-year deal with Brynas IF (Sweden) on Wednesday.

Timashov -- who was unconditionally waived by the Islanders on Monday -- has found a new home back in Sweden where he previously spent his junior years. Since making the jump to North America back in 2016-17, the 25-year-old winger has only managed to log 45 games at the NHL level in which he recorded four goals and five helpers. While it's certainly not impossible, Timashov may be hard-pressed to play his way back to the NHL down the road.
