Sifers signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Blue Jackets on Thursday. The 32-year-old defenseman totaled three goals and 19 assists in 76 games during the 2014-15 season with AHL Springfield. The veteran, who has appeared in 37 NHL games throughout his career, slots in as a depth blueliner for the Blue Jackets.
