Sheldon Souray has been placed on unconditional waivers and will be bought out by the Edmonton Oilers. He was set to earn $4.5 million in 2011-12 in the final year of his contract, but after the buyout is complete he will be able to sign anywhere as a free agent. Souray spent the 2010-11 campaign on loan to the AHL's Hershey Bears. He had 19 points and 85 penalty minutes in 40 games with Washington's minor-league affiliate. We'll keep you posted on where he ends up.
