Steen has been returned to AHL Providence, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.

Steen didn't record a point in two games with Boston, but he's played well for Providence this season, en route to logging three goals and eight points in 12 games. The 23-year-old is therefore a candidate for another recall down the road when the big club is shorthanded up front.
