Sean Couturier was examined at the hospital for a possible skull fracture and internal bleeding, but neither issue was discovered. He was released on Sunday morning and passed his baseline concussion ImPACT test, but that doesn't mean he is in the clear. Several players, including Philadelphia teammates Brayden Schenn and Chris Pronger, passed their initial tests as well only to be diagnosed with concussions afterward. Couturier was hit in the back of the helmet by a shot in Saturday's loss to Boston and is currently listed as day-to-day. He did not travel with the team in Denver for Monday's match-up against the Avalanche.
