Sean Avery was used sparingly in his season debut on Saturday night after he was recalled from the minors. He saw just 4:46 of ice time in the contest, while starting on the fourth line with Erik Christensen and Andre Deveaux. The Rangers spent a sizable portion of the game on the power play and all of Avery's time on the ice was spent at even strength.
