Scuderi has drawn into the lineup on 17 occasions since he was acquired by the Blackhawks on Dec. 15, logging zero points and a minus-6 rating over that span. Chicago likely waived the 37-year-old blueliner in order to free up some cap space ahead of the NHL's Feb. 29 trade deadline, as they may be interested in making a move that will bolster the team's depth at forward. The former fifth-round pick will likely pass through waivers unclaimed, at which point he will almost certainly be assigned to AHL Rockford.
