Scott Niedermayer will serve as an assistant coach for the Anaheim Ducks. "I'm very excited to expand my role with the Ducks and take on a new challenge," said Niedermayer. "I'm grateful to Bob Murray, Bruce Boudreau and the Ducks organization for giving me this opportunity and can't wait to get started." Niedermayer ended his playing career on June 22, 2010 and had been serving with the Ducks as a consultant for Hockey Operations. He's won the Stanley Cup four times, including once with the Ducks in 2007. He also served as the Ducks and, briefly, the New Jersey Devils captain during his playing career.
