Schenn scored a pair of third-period goals Tuesday against Buffalo, including one with 54 seconds remaining in the third period with the Flyers' net empty to send the game to overtime.
EDGE Analysis
Both goals were of the game-tying variety, in fact, and they represent Schenn's first standout offensive effort of the season. They came from the prime scoring areas you'd like to see the 24-year-old occupy, with Schenn getting right in front of the net on the rush to collect and put home Scott Laughton's pass on the first one, then deflecting Claude Giroux's shot in for the latter tally. It'd still be nice to see him take a step forward in terms of shot rate -- the goals came on the only two shots that he was credited -- but Schenn still owns a ton of upside, and his value in leagues that count hits as well as offensive production can't be overstated.
