Palmieri signed a four-year, $20 million deal with the Islanders on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
After long stints in Anaheim and New Jersey, Palmieri was shipped last season to Long Island, where he featured in 17 regular-season contests. He managed just four points while averaging 14:10 of ice time but was better in the postseason, putting up seven goals and nine points in 19 games. Based on the $5 million annual salary, clearly GM Lou Lamoriello believes Palmieri is still capable of finding twine at a rate resembling the one that saw him score 132 goals from 2015-19.
