Anisimov was released from his professional tryout offer with the Avalanche on Friday, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.

Anisimov was decent in limited action with the Senators last season, picking up two goals and nine points in 19 contests, but he was nonetheless unable to secure a contract with the stacked Avalanche during training camp. If Anisimov is unable to land a contract with another NHL team, he may opt to head overseas to continue his playing career.
